Keep Hearing, Keep Believing: Fuel Your Faith Daily

GRACE

I love to journal and turn my study notes into blogs. That’s how I’m learning and growing, not just in knowledge about Jesus, but in my actual relationship with Him.

One lesson I keep coming back to is this: we can’t truly believe if we’re not hearing right. Faith doesn’t grow in confusion or constant noise. It grows when God’s truth is heard clearly and consistently.

Scripture puts it plainly:

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
— Romans 10:17 (NLT)

What we listen to every day matters more than we realize. If you’re believing God for breakthrough, direction, or change, it’s worth paying attention to what your ears and heart are tuned into.

Faith is strengthened by hearing the good news of Jesus. Messages filled with hope, grace, and truth about who He is and what He has already done. The true gospel of grace always produces faith and expectation, even when progress feels slow or cycles seem hard to break.

I can’t say it’s been a long time since I’ve seen results, but I can say I’ve found myself stuck in patterns I didn’t want to repeat. Today, I’m choosing to declare that cycle broken, not by effort, but by returning to what I’m hearing and believing.

When we intentionally incline our ears toward God’s grace, our hearts naturally begin to expect good. Faith rises quietly. Confidence grows. We start reaching out again, much like the woman in Scripture who reached out in faith and was healed.

But hearing alone isn’t enough. We also need wisdom to understand what we hear. Without understanding, the Word can be easily stolen before it has time to take root.

Jesus explained this in Matthew 13:18–23, describing how some hear the Word but don’t experience lasting fruit because it’s quickly taken away. As John 10:10 reminds us, the enemy’s goal is always to steal, kill, and destroy. One of the first things he targets is our understanding and belief of God’s Word.

Without understanding, faith struggles to grow. That’s why Scripture urges us to seek wisdom and understanding in all we do.

Doubt and negativity are subtle, but persistent. They often show up when pressure comes because of the Word. That’s the moment we’re tempted to let go. But Jesus reminds us that when the seed falls on good soil, it produces a harvest. The pattern is simple but powerful: hearing, receiving, believing.

In a world full of noise, opinions, and distractions, guarding what we listen to matters. Not everything deserves our attention. Many things compete for urgency, but few actually build faith.

So I’m learning to be intentional. To move beyond passive listening and choose daily reminders of God’s love and truth. Whether through Scripture, grace-centered messages, devotionals, or quiet moments with Him, hearing God’s Word consistently is what keeps my heart steady.

Even after learning and applying so much, I still have moments where discouragement tries to creep in. That’s my cue, not to panic, but to return to hearing. Faith is kept alive the same way it’s formed.

So I keep hearing.
I keep believing.
And I keep moving forward, one faithful step at a time.
